Father, Daughter dance songs are hard to choose, but it is one of my favorite moments in a wedding. It’s always a tear-jerker, and it’s such a sweet moment for daddy and his little girl. Here are some great (and not too cheesy) songs to have that special dance too.
As I’ve said before, my love for Taylor Swift knows no bounds, so naturally my favorite option for a father/daughter dance would be this one. It’s a great story about a girl who’s father is there for her in every stage of her life, and her reflection of how wonderful that was. This song makes me cry every time.
I feel like everyone should expect this song. I mean, he wrote it about his daughter for goodness sakes. It might be a little overused, but that’s because it’s so wonderful! If you want a more classic song, this is a great one to go with. There’s also a million covers of it, so you can find the version that suits you best.
This is such a cute little song!! I will never get tired of listening to it, and the tempo is a really fun one to dance to. If you want a song that’s not too heavy or slow, this is perfect. It maintains the sentimentality of most father/daughter songs without making you cry during the first 10 seconds of the song. What a great thing.
Okay, I’m sorry, but I love the Hannah Montana Movie. And the scene where Miley and Billy Ray sing this song together makes me cry like a little baby. It’s a really beautiful and touching song, particularly for daughters of single fathers.
This song is actually a Christian worship song, but I think it’s a wonderful song for a dance with your father. It embodies that kind of unconditional love given by a father to his little girl. It’s different, but if you wanted to be more unconventional, I think this would be a great pick.
If you like country music, this is a really great song about the way girls can steal the hearts of boys–both daddies and boyfriends alike. This would be an especially great song if you wanted to two-step with your dad instead of just swaying back and forth. (This is a great option if you want to focus on something else so you don’t cry so much. Just saying.)
I’m a huge fan of this song, and while I wouldn’t consider it a typical wedding dance song, I really like the idea of it. It might be a romantic song originally, but it’s not so over the top that it doesn’t work here. If you wanted a more alternative option, this is a good one.
I really didn’t want to put this song on this list, but after listening to it a couple of times, I realized I don’t have a choice. It’s perfect. It’s beautiful and sentimental and classic, and will make literally everyone at your wedding cry. I know it’s used a lot, but it’s used with good reason.
This is another country song, and it is so sweet. It’s from the perspective of a father singing about his daughter and all of the little things that make a wonderful daddy/daughter relationship, and it is actually perfect.
This is also one that’s probably done a lot, but that doesn’t make it any less worthy of being on this list. I will fangirl about John Mayer forever and always, and this is one of my favorite songs of his. Plus it’s about daughters, so it’s a great option for a father/daughter dance.
