Some people want their wedding to be more reserved, but some people want their reception to be a giant dance party! Our Music Monday top 10 Dance Party Songs playlist is sure to get your guests grooving:
Okay, I get that this song has been overplayed for the last year, but you cannot tell me that if this song came on at a wedding you wouldn’t have SO much fun dancing to it. For 3 minutes and 19 seconds you can forget about being a hipster and listening to “cool music,” and you can go have a blast with your friends.
This song definitely appeals to my Texas roots. Any time I am out country dancing and this song comes on, it’s like a magnetic pull to the dance floor. You’re right, Josh Turner, why DONT we just dance?
Do I even have to say anything about this one? This song is iconic, and fun, and everyone loves it, even if they say they don’t.
I remember being 15 years old and having dance parties with my best friend, and this song never failed to make the playlist. I love the way this song is at 100% from beginning to end, and it’s not hard to enjoy.
This is another one of those songs that might be overplayed, but is still going to be a crowd favorite. It might make you groan and change the station in the car, but it’s going to make you yell “YES!” and drag your friends on the floor if you hear it at a wedding.
I feel like this is another song that I don’t even need to talk about. You will have the time of your life if you play this at your wedding. (Especially if you pre-choreograph something for it. Just saying.)
Please do every single person at your wedding a favor and play this song. That’s all I ask. I dance to this song probably once a week, and it’s so good for the soul. Don’t ask questions, just do it.
Me and my dad argue about Pitbull all the time (he loves him, I don’t) but I can’t even begin to make an argument against this song. It’s catchy and irresistible, and even I have to dance to it every time it comes on.
I hate to put a One Direction song on here, but I have to. My freshman year of college, my suite learned the dance in this music video, and it was so much fun. I didn’t even like One Direction then, but this was such a blast to dance to that I didn’t care. I bet your guests will feel the same.
This one is the odd man out on this list because it’s actually supposed to be a Christian worship song, but that instrumental between the verse and the chorus knocks my socks off. It might seem weird at first, but by the time you get to the first drop, you’ll be too busy dancing to worry about anything else.
Cheers, and happy dancing! -Abigail
