Laurie’s shower was probably one of my most favorite yet. It all started when good friends Laurie + Derek decided to announce what the gender of their child was by eating tacos or hotdogs. I know how tacky he he….If you knew them you would understand (maybe)! Anyways, it did however give me this idea so it can’t have been all bad, right?
After scheming with my friends Jen and Linds, who agreed to throw this outrageous shower with me, we decided to throw Laurie and soon to be sweet Lucy a fiesta bebe themed party. This is fitting in that: baby is in fact a girl (Lucy), baby is Hispanic, and Derek loves a good fiesta!
I also declared that if we were to do this fiesta, in the very least it needed to be done with some typical Paper Hearts class! No tacky parties allowed here! We decided to do a huge taco bar, custom “Mom”itos (mojitos for preggos) and a yummy ice cream bar!
It was a beautiful early summer day. We spent the first part of our fiesta in Laurie’s home eating and opening gifts. Then we sat in the sun and enjoyed the delicious ice cream bar! It was great to spend one of the first days of summer celebrating new birth and friendship.
Blackberry Mint Lemonade
I loved these sweet little succulents in hand painted terracotta pots.
Berries, Berries, Berries…. Yum O
Anything in a mason jar just tastes and looks sweeter.
