I love a late summer wedding and this is one of my favorites from the summer! This stunning backdrop is just outside of Boise, Idaho. I had the privilege of helping my husbands cousin, Josh and his fiancé Rene plan and style their gorgeous barn wedding. One of the best things is when you get to plan a wedding for people that are dear to you! It was such a blast!
We got together a few times during the year when they came to Seattle to visit, as well as lots of fun Skype chats. Rene and Josh choose an amazing venue, Honalee Farms for their wedding and reception. The ceremony backdrop was of a quaint little pond and gazebo adorn with bottles and jars hanging with florals from twine. The bride was led down the isle by her Dad and Uncle. During the ceremony the couple planted a bonsai tree to celebrate them growth together as a couple. One of the best moments of the ceremony was when the couple said their I do’s. The grooms brother Cody and Best Man tied a ball and chain around the grooms leg. Everyone had a great laugh!
Rene choose a color palette of bright yellow and gray tones. We created simple and beautiful florals of roses, ranunculus, lavender, craspedia, silver brunia, and dusty miller. Center pieces were designed with burlap table runners, white using hobnob jars, bottles and barn wood planters built by the groom. The bride, and her new mother in law planted the boxes earlier in the summer so they would be in full bloom.
There are so many other details to gush about but check out the stunning pictures below including the fun photo booth the guests enjoyed.
Isn’t the brides dress stunning. The brides sister created her birdcage veil.
This is seriously one of my favorite things we have ever created for a wedding. Instead of a program we went for this awesome piece. I asked the bride and groom for pictures of each of their bridesmaids, and groomsmen. I drew caricatures for each of them. We framed them and hung them on a door painted with chalkboard paint. Isn’t it fantastic!
Guests enjoy a yummy cookie bar made of friends and families best treats along with this beautiful cake.
The dance party was awesome, but wouldn’t have been complete without the photo booth. Here are few of my favorite shots!
