We had the privilege of pulling together a wedding for dear friends David and Chrissie Wright. I say “pulling together” because we had a full day to pull all the decorations out of what seemed like a magicians top hat. The lovebirds moved their wedding date up by a few months which left us hours to accomplish the wedding site. We spent the morning rummaging through the storage section of our church and found a ton of treasures. Due to the time crunch we did everything very simple: All white tissue paper puffs, white strands of hearts, a simple archway make from branches, and bright tulips in vintage milk glass. The bride wore bright green wellies in honor of the rainy day which pulled together all the colors perfectly.
The location was in a back yard that looked right out on the Puget Sound. The weather was stormy all day and then cleared up and became glorious right in time for pictures. All the guests sat on picnic blankets and enjoyed catered picnic dinners from a local bakery. Following the beautiful ceremony was a reception held in the beach house. It had a romantic feel as the sun went down, and all the guests munched on chocolate and vanilla cakes all while partaking in the lively spirit of the reception. One of my favorite memories of the day was as the bride and groom were making their grand exit. Chrissie tripped on her dress falling onto the grass. She got right up and took a curtsy for the cheering (and laughing) crowd and continued to run off with her new husband. I love the memories that make moments memorable. –Katy
